The second annual Collegiate Peaks Music Festival will fill the street of Buena Vista this August 17th through the 19th.

This free event was created as a way to celebrate all of the amazing talent we have in the state as well as give back to our local community.

The proceeds from this festival go back into the local art community to help with projects such as the renovation ofKizumba the old opera house and creation of a greater performing arts center. Come dance the weekend away while helping to create venues for year round events in Buena Vista.

With our first year under our belt we have set our sites even higher for 2007, expanding to two days and making the festival a green event. With our recycling and composting stations around the festival, we should be able to have an incredible weekend of fun with minimal waste.dance2

Each year will take us even closer to our green goal, but this year we are happy to introduce our organic cotton t-shirts, our promotional materials printed on recycled paper, Ska Brewery’s compostable corn cups, and much more. So, enjoy the weekend, enjoy the fun and help save this great planet by being aware of what you are using and throwing away.

The festival is proud to have Southsss2 Main and the Central Colorado Performing Arts Center (CCPAC) as our main sponsors for this event. CCPAC offers the festival their non-profit status allowing year round fund raising with the benefit of tax receipts for our many sponsors. Both of these like-minded groups are a perfect fit for this festival working toward promoting green practices as well as music, art and cultural events.
