K's Park: A Local Family Favorite

As you drive into town on a nice summer day one of the first things you will notice is the long line of people standing outside of K’s Dairy Delight. Locals and visitors alike wait out the lines in order to have a burger and fries, grilled cheese on wheat (my daughters favorite) and more importantly shakes, malts, sundaes and ice cream cones.

A favorite afternoon of ours is to walk to K’s – indulge in some ice cream and then take it to Columbine Park where we are sure to see a group of friends playing on the playground and make new friends as well. Columbine Park – known to the locals as K’s park – is full of kids and young families from sun up to sun down. With green grass, picnic tables and a great play structure an afternoon can quickly slip away.

As we near the end of summer and parents with young kids search for entertaining activities, locals are everKs1 more appreciative of what K’s park offers. Just last week an informal gathering turned into a dozen kids running around playing hide and go seek, climbing the rock wall and sliding down the slides while the moms and dads relaxed in the grass and enjoyed an afternoon of catching up and slowing down.

So, if you are passing through town with kids who could use some time running around and expending some energy – stop by the park where you can indulge in some ice cream andKs3 meet some fun locals.

See you there!
